THE HOME...

"The Lilac Cottage" has just been completely renovated, from its gingerbread on the front porch to the restored Dade County Pine inside. All of the furnishings are brand new and of the highest quality.

THE LIVING AREA...

The living room of "The Lilac Cottage" has a large flat screen TV and comfortable seating, including a queen sofa bed. The layout of the living area is an open plan, perfect for entertaining. The dining table seats six, and the large kitchen is fully equipped.

THE POOL AREA...

"The Lilac Cottage" has a 12 x 9 pool that is perfect for dipping, with plenty of room for everyone. The deck is spacious, with a Gas BBQ, outdoor dining set with umbrella, and chaises. The pool area is spacious, with a large deck that has room to relax in sun or shade.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS...

The master bedroom is upstairs, with a king bed, overhead fan and flat screen TV. The bathroom is en-suite. There is another room just off the master, with a twin bed that can be a third bedroom. On the first floor, the second bedroom has two twin beds, overhead fan, flat screen TV and an en-suite bathroom.

THE AMENITIES...

Central Heat and AC, Pool, Washer/Dryer, 46″ Flat Screen TV in living room, Cable TV throughout, Microwave, Blender, Toaster, Fully Appointed Kitchen, Linens and Towels provided. Interim housekeeping provided upon request. Wireless high-speed Internet access throughout the property. This property will accommodate up to 7 adults. Pets considered.

We loved the Lilac Cottage

While the cottage is a bit out of the way, we rode bikes or walked to Duval Street, the grocery store, the beach, and many favorite restaurants.

Three of our four weeks we had another couple with us and the cottage easily accommodated all of us.  We never used the little loft bedroom upstairs, but it would be fine for an adult or child. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pan, utensils as well as spices, paper products and cleaning supplies. Bed were comfortable and there were plenty of sheets and towels. The patio area and pool were fantastic. The dishwasher broke while we were there, but the property management company was very responsive with that issue and any others we had. The only thing that kept me from giving the cottage 5 stars was the condition of the bedroom carpet and too many fake plants all around the interior. We loved Key West and will return next year and we will once again use Last Key Reality. Favorite restaurants:  DJ's Clam Shack (lobster rolls) Cafe Marquesa (key lime martinis and all the food), Square One, Cafe Sole and Bistro Sole. We flew in Miami so we had a rental car for the month, but will not do so next year. If you're even reasonably fit rent bikes. We used Island Bycyle

Great house

Great Place..A home away from home..

This was a working vacation and we needed a place to stay within allocated budget during a busy time of the year down in the keys. We stayed for just over 23 days. The house was just as described, was close enough to everything we needed to get to, was well accomodated for making meals, chilling out after work, internet usage, television channels. Walking to all the major old town attractions was easy. If I had to go back I would choose to stay here again. The backyard was a great place to chill after work. Street parking was free and usually not a problem. The property manager Shel was easy to get ahold of, easy to work with, responsive to any questions we had and a very pleasant "island demeanor" (i.e. laid back like the keys are supposed to be).

We Loved the Lilac Cottage

We spent the month of February 2012 at the Lilac Cottage and enjoyed every minute. The property was exactly as described in the literature and very nicely maintained. The kitchen was well equiped with all the basics covered but salt and peppar were the only spices provided. There is a very nice gas grill on the back deck and we took full advantage of that option. Dessert at Mathissons Ice Cream Parlor on White was our favourite haunt on the nights we cooked at home. The location was central to everything and there are many pubs and great restaurants within walking distance. The property managers provided fabulous service.  Meeting us at the house upon arrival, we were quickly oriented to the neighborhood and learned where to get the items we would need for our stay.  They even left us with a suggested list of sights and restaurants and everyone that we tried we enjoyed. They scheduled the gardener and pool maintenace weekly and we subscribed to the available weekly house keeping service that was very reasonably priced yet thorough. Our calls for assistance were quickly returned and the one issue we had with the air conditioning on a Sunday was quickly resolved and restored before the end of the day. We would highly recommend this property and would love an opportunity to return.
