A spacious main living and dining area, a brand new kitchen, private bedrooms and bathrooms, a stunning private pool - all adorned with artwork from Cuba, Haiti, and of course, the Keys, each piece with its own story to tell. "The Artists' Muse" is also the proud recipient of the 2017 Historic Florida Keys Foundation Preservation Star Award. THE PERFECT LOCATION...

If you ever decide to pull yourself away from this wonderful home, you'll realize that Key West's best restaurants, live entertainment and every other attraction are just a few minutes from your door. Yet, you are tucked down a famous tiny hidden street, best known for its dreamy romantic name: Love Lane. This is truly a home that will spoil you for other vacation homes. There is off-street parking in the driveway, plus space for bicycles, mopeds, or electric cars.

THE LIVING AREA & KITCHEN...

The kitchen and living rooms of "The Artists' Muse" are meticulously furnished, with a wall of French doors providing a lovely view of your backyard oasis from both rooms. The main living area has a large sofa and chairs for the group to gather, with a flat screen TV. The eat-in kitchen is completely up-to-date and you'll find all of the tools and equipment you will need to create a gourmet meal. There is bar seating for a casual bite, and a full dining area just off the kitchen. Best of all, you are surrounded by an imaginative collection of artwork brought from all over the world to complete this masterpiece of a home.

THE PERGOLA & POOL AREA...

The back yard is simply stunning, with gorgeous tropical landscaping and plenty of space to enjoy the sunshine and the shade in the Keys. There is a whimsical dining area under the pergola, as well as an upscale outdoor shower for a quick rinse after the beach. The large BBQ grill is perfect for a poolside BBQ. The private pool area is an exotic retreat: the large heated pool is surrounded by chaise lounges with on-demand colorful lighting for a truly festive evening by the pool.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS...

All of the bedrooms of this ranch-style home are on the main floor. The first master suite has a Queen bed, a large flat screen TV, and an en-suite bathroom with a dramatic soaker tub. This bedroom is off the kitchen/living area side of the home by itself, with French doors that open out to the back yard. The next two bedrooms are on the opposite side of the living area. The second bedroom has a Queen sized bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The third bedroom has two Twin beds that convert to one King bed upon request, with a flat screen TV. There is a full bathroom in that hallway that also opens to the pool that this room's guests would use. The fourth bedroom is the guest house off of the pool, perfect for a little extra privacy. This guest house has a Queen sized bed, a private controllable A/C, and a flat screen TV. The guest house bathroom is en-suite with a shower.

Location, Location, Location

For three months, we were the lucky first guests to rent this award-winning recent renovation. This location on quiet Love Lane, off Fleming Street adjacent to the KW Library Palm Garden, is the best. It’s only 1.5 blocks walking distance to the grocery store, 3 blocks to the post office, 2 blocks to the Studios of Key West and the new bookstore, 1 block to the Eaton Seafood Market, and 2-3 blocks to numerous restaurants (Michaels, Prime, Lucy’s, Waterfront Brewery, Boathouse, A&B, Alonzo’s, Bien, Azur, etc.) 3 blocks to Tropic Cinema, and 2 blocks to the waterfront. We would give this location a walkability rating of 10 out of 10. You do not need a car when renting this house. The expansive, roomy deck gets plenty of sunshine and is perfect for get-togethers. The 10' deep heated saltwater swimming pool is very private and always the perfect temperature. Excellent weekly pool service and monthly grounds keeping by the gardeners. Things we loved about this home: beautiful windows allow sunlight to permeate throughout the house and an airy feeling with a lovely view of the Library’s Palm Garden from the kitchen windows. The world-class efficient air conditioning system worked perfectly, and there are many, quiet, adjustable ceiling fans throughout the home, exceptional energy efficient LED lighting inside and out for reading, ambient indoor and outdoor dining, and underwater lighted swimming in the evenings. There are high-quality televisions in each bedroom and we loved the huge smart TV in the living area for our group to watch the Super Bowl, NCAA Tournament games, Netflix movies, etc. Quality artwork is beautifully placed throughout, and there is gorgeous Cuban patchwork tile in two of the bathrooms. The open floor plan combining the kitchen, dining area, and living room in one shared space is very pleasant for entertaining house guests. Although the bedrooms are quite small, the layout provides privacy for everyone and easy access to bathrooms. Everything is on one floor and accessible if using a cane or walker after one enters the house. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a dinner. Excellent icemaker, large refrigerator, super quiet dishwasher, and quality outdoor grill. There is off-street parking for an electric car or scooters. However, placement of the lane gate and a palm does not accommodate the tight turn for an SUV, Prius, or Jeep into the off-street parking. The property manager, Mr. Keith, was very cordial, eager to make our stay pleasurable, responsive to our text messages/calls, resourceful, and a skilled problem solver.
